Students in 1st level have ballet twice a week and contemproray/creative dance once a week.

Difficulty and speed increase with each level and combination exercises become more complex.

The emphasis is still on the joy of dance, cooperation and to promote physical literacy and to develop ability for disciplined work practices. Students get the opportunity to study ballet, modern and contemporary dance, improv and creative work, but also folk dances / group dances are woven into the lesson.

2nd level

9-10 years old

The emphasis is still on the joy of dance, cooperation and to promote physical literacy and to develop ability for disciplined work practices. Students get the opportunity to study ballet, modern and contemporary dance, improv and creative work, but also folk dances / group dances are woven into the lesson.

 

Classes begin: August 26th 2024

4th level

11-12 years old

Álfabakki 14a and Grensásvegur 14

Level 4 students have ballet three times a week, point work once a week, contemporary dance once a week.

The level of difficulty in classical ballet and contemporary dance increases and new exercises are added with each level. Level 4 students are slowly beginning to do classical point work.

Students are introduced to modern dance, improve and creative work as well as folk dances/group dances are woven into the lesson.

5th level

12-13 years old

Level 5 students have ballet four times a week, point work once a week, ballet repertoire class once a week, contemporary dance and strengthening class.

 

The level of difficulty in classical ballet and contemporary dance increases and new exercises are added with each level. Students in the 5th Level continue to master the point work technique.

Students get introduced to modern dance, improvisation and creative work, also folk dances/group dances are woven into the lesson.

6th level

13-14 years old

Level 6 students have ballet four times a week, point work once a week, ballet repertoire class once a week, contemporary dance and strengthening class.

The level of difficulty and speed in classical ballet and contemporary dance increase and new exercises are added with each level. Point work becomes more demanding and more work is done in the centre.

Students get introduced to modern dance, historical dance works, improv and creative work, also folk dances / group dances are woven into the lesson.

7th level

14-16 years old

Álfabakka 14 a and Grensásvegur 14

Level 7 students have ballet four times a week, point work once a week, historical dance work twice a week, and contemporary dance twice a week ( 90 min).

The level of difficulty and speed in classical ballet and contemporary dance increase and new exercises are added with each level. Point work becomes more demanding and students learn dance pieces on point.

Students get introduced to modern dance, historical dance works, improv and creative work, also folk dances / group dances are woven into the lesson.

CREATE A PLATFORM TO OPEN UP DISCUSSION ABOUT PERFORMANCE ARTS BETWEEN YOUNG AUDIENCE AND ARTISTS.

 

JOIN AND SUPPORT ARTISTS WHO ARE WORKING WITH DANCE AND PERFORMANCE ARTS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AND ALL AUDIENCE.

 

WORK WITH OTHER INSTITUTIONS TO MEET THE SOCIAL NEEDS IN THE FIELD OF DANCE AND PERFORMANCE ART.
