Spring course for disabled children in Dansverkstæðið 6-12 year olds

image (1).png

Dansgarðurðinn - Dans for all offers 4-week course in ballet and creative dance for disabled children. All children, including those in wheelchairs, are welcome. The course is intended for beginners in dance between the ages of 6 and 12, but we also welcome older children who want to try out.

Through dance and movement, we explore each person's potential and emphasize creating a safe space that allows us to discover new talents and trust our abilities. We play with ballet movements and music. This way, we develop body language, enrich skills, strengthen balance, fine and gross motor skills, coordination and spatial intelligence. We also work with communication, expression and cooperation between each individual and the group as a whole. We develop games and exercises that adapt to each individual and work in collaboration with each child to find new ways to move and enjoy movement.
